Property owner agrees to plant 25 trees to resolve Riverfront Area tree removal

David Jacquier appeared before the Conservation Commission on June 18 regarding an enforcement order for unpermitted tree removal in the Riverfront Area at 0 Clayton Mill River Road. Jacquier said USDA representatives visited in April 2026 and an engineer advised he should not plant, but he stated he has not touched the property since the notice of violation.
Commission Agent Mary Summers reviewed the Enforcement Order and described replanting options: either planting 25 native trees 4 to 6 feet in height, or hiring a professional to replant at a 1:1 ratio. Jacquier agreed to plant 25 trees. The Commission voted to accept planting of 25 trees to be completed prior to September 1, 2026 (motion carried 4-0-0).
The Commission recorded the replanting condition as the remedy for the enforcement order and will monitor compliance.
