New Marlborough conservation commission accepts resignation, approves agent contract and prepares fee bylaw

Co-Chair D. Hyde opened the Town of New Marlborough Conservation Commission meeting on June 18, 2026, and the panel accepted a written resignation from Freddy Friedman. The motion to accept the resignation was made by K. Hoffman and carried 4-0-0.
Commissioners also moved to approve a renewal contract for Conservation Commission Agent Mary Summers. Summers said she will have limited time but plans to continue attending meetings and site visits; the contract specifies her salary will be paid from the filing fee account rather than the town budget. The motion to approve the contract carried 3-0-0.
Commissioners discussed administrative matters including the pending contract for the peer reviewer, which has not yet been received from David Cameron, and a proposed bylaw that would authorize the Commission to charge application fees. K. Hoffman said the proposed bylaw is slated for the special town meeting warrant on June 29, 2026, and encouraged members to attend.
