Students report on spirit weeks, dances and after-school clubs; district highlights expanded out-of-class options

Ellie Early (Student voice representative, Speaker 1) introduced herself during the student report and described her role as student voice representative. A student council president (Speaker 6) described daily morning announcements, the fall spirit week and a planned winter spirit week and pep rally for basketball tournaments. Staff noted after-school offerings supported by the 21st Century Learning Centers partnership—activities that include cooking challenges, a hot-chocolate bar, gaming days (with parent permission), robotics and community-service field trips. The programs are being used to engage students who may not participate in athletics and to provide supervised enrichment and service opportunities.
Board members praised student participation and encouraged the continuation of programming that provides leadership and engagement opportunities for students outside the regular school day.
