"This will say, superintendent is the Sue Wilson is the district's civil rights coordinator," staff stated while reviewing the revised nondiscrimination notice and complaint forms that fold civil-rights, harassment and Title IX procedures into a single administrative form. Staff noted the updated policies explicitly describe the coordinator’s role, investigation steps, appeal rights and supportive measures.
Board members discussed complaint timelines and the resource constraints that could limit internal investigations; several members favored the option to refer investigations to an outside third party when board members lack required civil-rights training or when conflicts exist. Staff agreed to request model language for supportive-measure examples and the disciplinary-range list for inclusion in the next draft.
