A student representative reported strong participation in recent student-led conferences and several student-led activities, and described students’ involvement in a multi-stakeholder offshore wind ‘roadmap’ process.
"84 percent of students made it to student led conferences," the Student representative said, noting that the student council raised nearly $1,000 through a wreath fundraiser and the community-wellness class collected about 150 cans for a food drive to be donated to the food-share. The student also described an engineering and political-science class trip to a regional conference on offshore wind and said students presented in a breakout session and received applause for their participation.
District staff praised the students’ work and noted opportunities for further student engagement in ongoing economic and infrastructure planning meetings; staff suggested sharing meeting invitations and follow-up materials so interested students and teachers can observe or participate in monthly government-and-agency Zoom briefings.
