Board adopts multiple ISBA policy series and hears call for a three-person year-one administrative team

Separately, a presenter (speaker 5) outlined administrative staffing recommendations for the new district, advocating a three-person administrative team (one superintendent plus two building principals) for the first year to ensure compliance with IDEA and federal programs and to avoid audit risk. "Starting with 3 administrators allows us to be proactive instead of reactive," the presenter said, urging the board to consider the model as temporary and subject to evaluation after year one. Trustees asked clarifying questions about overlap between superintendent and principal duties and were advised that policy language can be revisited if a shared superintendent-principal model is later chosen.
