City Administrator Pro Tem John Edwards clarified that Oregon gas tax revenue-sharing funds recorded in the Street Fund are restricted to roads and streets and cannot be used for law enforcement, parks, or other non-street activities. He said those funds could support hiring a staff member to develop a street improvement and maintenance plan that has been delayed.
Edwards reported he submitted a grant application to the ODOT Small City Allotment Fund for road and drainage improvements; the application is included in the proposed budget because staff consider there is a reasonable expectation of receiving the funds. No final award had been reported during the meeting record.
