Shady Cove budget committee recommends FY 2026–27 budget, sets levy at $0.5474 per $1,000

The Shady Cove Budget Committee voted unanimously on May 26, 2026 to recommend the proposed FY 2026–27 budget to the City Council. The motion to approve the proposed budget was made by Councilor Steve Mitchell and seconded by Cheryl Singleton; the vote was 7–0 in favor.
The committee also adopted a motion to set the property tax levy at $0.5474 per $1,000 of assessed value. That motion was made by Mayor Richardson, seconded by Councilor Kathy Nuckles, and carried 7–0. Committee members present who voted yes were Mayor Richardson, Councilor Steve Mitchell (via Zoom), Councilor Kathy Nuckles, John Edwards, Cheryl Singleton, Debbie Glass-Collier and Jay Taylor.
A public hearing and a special City Council meeting will be scheduled for the formal presentation of the FY 2026–27 budget to the Council ahead of final adoption. The meeting adjourned at 11:07 a.m.
