Council approves consent agenda, schedules audit and budget training

The Nortonville City Council approved the consent agenda, which included the April 8 meeting minutes, monthly bills, financial and bank reconciliations, the treasurer report and utility-billing items; the motion carried 5–0. Clerk Barbara Polson said auditors will be in-house this Thursday and Friday to conduct the 2025 audit, and she will attend a 2027 budget class on May 18, 2026.
Routine administrative items were otherwise uneventful. The council also instructed the clerk to send a letter regarding a fence at 528 & 530 Main to keep people out, and with no further business the meeting was adjourned at 7:55 p.m. by a 5–0 vote.
