Levy would preserve librarian positions and library services, officials say
Summary
Officials said the levy would keep library staff at both schools and maintain Valnet subscription costs (about $12,000); the district is exploring whether its student-management system could reduce ongoing Valnet fees.

Amanda Bush said maintaining a librarian in both buildings is a specific levy objective and that the high-school librarian also supports district digital-learning functions. "So what we're talking about when we're talking about losing the librarian that's on the levy…our attendance secretary would work out of the library and do 2 roles at the high school," she said, explaining the consequence if the levy fails.
A community library staffer confirmed the district uses Valnet and asked about alternatives; Bush said the district has priced alternatives and that eliminating Valnet could save roughly $12,000 but might limit nonresident access to the Grangeville Centennial Library without a small fee. The library staff cost line on the levy was presented at about $90,000 for staffing and Valnet membership.
