The Mountain View School District board voted to set its required budget hearing for June 17 during the regular June meeting.
Staff member (S3) told trustees that the hearing is mandated by statute as part of the deconsolidation process and recommended holding it at the June board meeting. “We are legally required to have a budget hearing where we go over our budget for the year,” S3 said, noting the board must also meet separate audit reporting requirements before the district completes deconsolidation. Committee member (S2) moved to set the hearing for 06/17/2026; the motion was seconded and approved by the board.
The board will hold the hearing as a public meeting and expects to present the proposed budget and take public comment before any final adoption. Auditors’ reports and any statutory filings tied to the deconsolidation will be scheduled separately as required.
