Audit delayed; city administrator candidate declines offer and recruitment remains open
Summary

Mayor Lena Richardson reported that auditors continue to sort a substantial volume of incorrect transactions and undocumented journal entries; as a result the 2024 audit will not be completed until later this summer and the FY 2025 audit is scheduled to begin later in the year.
Council also discussed personnel recruitment. The candidate previously approved for an offer chose to decline for personal and family reasons; the council left recruitment open and reported several applications have been received. Councilors asked staff to continue outreach and recruitment activity.
