Seneca council approves audit contract, volunteer insurance resolution and reviews short-term rental ordinance draft

At its Feb. 11 meeting the Seneca City Council approved several routine administrative items. The council voted to approve an audit contract with Solutions CPA after Mayor Smith read the agenda item and Councilor Melissa Pettyjohn made the motion; Councilor Sue Holliday seconded and the contract was approved unanimously.
The council also adopted Resolution 02-20, the annual volunteer workers' compensation resolution. City Manager Burrell described it as "the same resolution done every year to approve workmen's compensation for volunteers." The council reviewed a draft of Ordinance #99 (short-term rentals) and approved the draft as presented, noting it will go to the city attorney for final review. Finally, council approved payment of bills (motion by Councilor Holliday, second by Councilor Foster) and adjourned at 6:58 p.m.
Each item was recorded with standard motions and unanimous votes; no changes to ordinance language were made at the meeting beyond approval to forward it for legal review.
