The proposed park rules would set park hours from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., require users to clean up after themselves, prohibit alcohol and glass, limit fires to designated grills or fire rings, restrict smoking to parking areas, require pets to remain on leads, and prohibit unauthorized motorized vehicles on trails. When Commissioner Dar Hintz asked how temporary restrictions such as a burn ban would be handled, Wolf said the City would address those situations as needed, "including temporarily closing or marking off the fire ring during a burn ban." The committee favored constructing an at-grade crossing for the intermittent stream along the proposed Walnut Circle trail connection rather than planning immediately for a pedestrian bridge; doing so would allow the City to reserve funding to eventually pave the trail connection.
