The board approved the district’s proposed 2024–25 equity‑multiplier fund plan, consolidating the $50,000 minimum allotment for each of three alternative education sites into a $150,000 district plan to support direct student services and staff development.
Gary (staff lead on the plan) said the funds would be split primarily between direct student services — makerspace equipment, field trips and expanded staffing for college and career readiness — and professional development (including restorative practices). "We're looking to use a significant chunk of it, the majority of it for direct student services," Gary said.
The plan includes increasing a current 0.5 FTE resource teacher’s hours to focus on career readiness and pre‑internship preparation; it also funds a small, on‑campus cafe training program and sets aside about $20,000 for field trips in the first year. Trustees emphasized outreach to parents and local businesses to maximize internship placements and suggested surveying families and employers for needs and opportunities.
The board approved the plan by roll call.
