Dereth Harrison, Elementary Principal and Title IX Director, told the Ninnekah Public Schools Board on Feb. 9 that she had provided an update on the percentage of school personnel who have completed required Title IX training during recent state legislators' meetings. The presentation was part of the regular board agenda on compliance and training.
The item drew public praise: Cory Melton used the public-comment period to "express gratitude to Title IX Director Mrs. Harrison for diligently managing the laws, rules, and regulations affecting the school, students, and staff," and invited board members to join him at the State Capitol to discuss possible law changes and local investigation processes. The board's public participation policy (Policy AF, adopted Aug. 18, 2022) governs when members of the public may address the board.
The update was recorded on the board's agenda as a compliance and training status report; the minutes do not record a specific completion percentage or a formal board action tied to the report.
