Council adopts first readings to revise stormwater code and create a Roswell stormwater handbook

Brian Watson summarized a multi-year effort to modernize Roswell's stormwater rules to improve clarity and reduce inconsistent plan-review outcomes. The proposed changes amend UDC Article 12.5 and Code Chapter 7.2 to reference a city Stormwater Handbook that will consolidate design criteria, checklists, maintenance agreement templates and shared-facility guidance.
Watson said the handbook is intended to harmonize local practice with neighboring jurisdictions and the Georgia Stormwater Management Manual where appropriate, and staff recommended periodic updates. Planning Commission reviewed and approved the text changes. Council voted on first readings to amend the UDC and the code of ordinances and instructed staff to prepare the handbook and an outreach workshop for developers and the public.
