The Common Council voted to set a public hearing on Aug. 24, 2026, for ordinance 1988‑26, a proposed rezoning for land at E 7165 Copper Creek Way (parcel numbers 030‑1186‑00000 and 030‑0001‑01000) from agricultural to R‑2 residential. Brian (planning commission representative) said the applicant seeks to attach a neighboring one‑acre parcel to a Copper Creek lot so the entire lot would be in one residential zone rather than split zoning.
Council discussion was brief and procedural. Mayor (S2) asked for questions and then took a motion; the motion to set the public hearing was moved by Peterson and seconded by Schulte. Council members responded 'aye' and the motion carried. The planning commission and town recommended the applicant's CSM and tied the rezoning discussion to the survey map process; the CSM itself will proceed as a separate agenda item per the planning commission's recommendation.
