Parents tell board ParentSquare and agenda attachments are hard to access; district vows clearer settings and guides

"As an emergency contact, I am not receiving the school notices on ParentSquare," public commenter Linda Reese Wall said, urging the district to send messages through multiple formats. Trustees and staff acknowledged the issue, explaining some documents had been shared with viewer access later in the afternoon and offering to provide step-by-step guidance to families on changing contact and notification preferences.
Staff described existing features — including a digest option and per-user settings — and proposed short tutorial videos and bilingual how-to resources to help families set preferences for text, email or push notifications. The board asked staff to expand outreach to bilingual families and suggested in-person help at school events for families who need assistance updating settings.
