A steering committee member said one of the planning process’ surprises was the city’s aging demographic and limited commercial space, and urged steps to attract younger residents. “I think what surprised me most about the planning process is probably 2 things...the commercial space in Roswell is as limited as it is. And then secondly, to see the demographics of our population. We've got an aging demographic,” Resident (S5) said.
Committee participants linked demographic trends to the need for economic and community strategies that retain and attract younger households. They emphasized outreach, transparency, and resident engagement as part of that effort, noting that the plan should prompt action today to influence who lives and works in Roswell in the years ahead.
