City outlines progress on new dog park and all‑inclusive 'inspiration' field

Recreation staff (S5) updated the committee on two capital projects near the Commons: a new dog park and an ‘‘inspiration'' inclusive field for adaptive baseball. "Bid fencing came back on Friday, so that's kind of next... Water has been run to the site," S5 said of the dog park, adding that city divisions are performing much of the work in‑house to contain costs.
On the inspiration field, S5 said crews have mostly completed grading and are waiting on field material to finish construction. "It'll be by October, November that'll be completed," S5 said, adding that once the surfacing and finish work begin the field will come together quickly. Committee members asked for updates and plans; staff said they will keep the committee posted as work proceeds.
