Mobile crisis team from Central Wyoming Counseling Center seeks partnership with Evansville first responders

Two members of Central Wyoming Counseling Center introduced their mobile crisis team and asked to coordinate with Evansville police, emergency services and the fire department to respond to mental-health and substance-use crises.
Rachel Pryor and Jesse Hodges of Central Wyoming Counseling Center introduced themselves during public comment and asked to work more closely with Evansville's police, emergency services and fire department as a mobile crisis team.
"We assist with mental health and substance use related crises," Pryor said, adding the team responds to mental-health crises, potential drug psychosis and suicidal ideation and typically acts as a second responder once first-responders secure a scene. Council members suggested the presenters schedule a meeting with the police chief and fire chief when staff return from vacation to discuss coordination.
Council asked the presenters to leave contact information with the clerk so staff could follow up and set a meeting. The presenters indicated they have operated for about a year and want to improve community response by integrating with local emergency services.
