District certifies fiscally positive as second interim shows modest adjustments, grants added

The district business manager presented the 2024-25 2nd interim report, saying multiyear projections have been reconciled after an earlier prior-year ADA adjustment. The presentation noted new grant awards added to the budget (the community schools grant, wellness coaching, and a CDFA Farm-to-School grant), explained why LCFF figures differed (a prior-year adjustment reduced the district's funding level compared with an earlier LCFF calculator number), and said the district's cash flow and reserves are healthy enough to certify as fiscally positive.
Trustees probed attendance patterns and the fiscal consequences of absent students, noting that enrollment-versus-ADA variance can equate to significant funding differences. Staff said average daily attendance was slightly adjusted to be conservative given cold- and flu-related absences and that the district continues to pursue an attendance liaison position through community-schools funding to support improved student attendance. The board approved the 2nd interim report by roll call.
