Council approves Oct. 26 street festival on PA Avenue with limited town support

The Town of Nutter Fort council voted unanimously Aug. 27 to partner with Cartoon Headquarters on a Halloween/Fall Festival street fair scheduled for Oct. 26, 2024, on PA Avenue from noon to 8 p.m. James Vanscoy requested the town partner with the organization; Councilor Karen Phillips moved to approve the partnership and Councilor Rick Lafferty seconded the motion.
Event details in the meeting packet and discussion show the festival would include inflatables, food trucks, possible crafts and a beer garden; vendors will supply their own equipment and the town agreed to supply electricity to inflatables. Council indicated the town’s financial exposure will be minimal because equipment purchased for the town’s 100th celebration can be reused; no additional budget appropriation was recorded at the meeting.
