Nutter Fort Council adopts two ordinance updates on smoke detectors and landlord registration

On Sept. 24 the Nutter Fort Council approved two ordinance updates on second reading. Ordinance 2024-10 repeals Article 1511 of the town code relating to smoke detectors; council members said the repeal was intended to bring codified ordinances up to present-day standards. The ordinance passed by unanimous vote after a supporting motion and second.
Council also adopted Ordinance 2024-11, amending Articles 777.09 and 777.11 of the codified ordinances to clarify the town's landlord registration requirements. Councilor Karen Phillips moved in support on the first reading with Councilor Rick Lafferty seconding; the second-reading adoption passed unanimously. The minutes record no amendments to the measures at the Sept. 24 meeting.
