Nutter Fort Fire Department reports Hurricane Helene assistance, donation locations and community parade turnout

Fire Chief Jeremy Haddix told the council on Oct. 8 that the department sent two personnel south to assist with Hurricane Helene response efforts and that donations for victims are being collected at Vincent Memorial and Freedom Baptist Churches; Linda Griffith is accepting limited donations at the Nutter Fort Post Office. Tickets remained on sale for the department’s 'Ultimate Giveaway.'
Haddix also reported that the Robert C. Byrd High School homecoming parade, coordinated by RCBHS, passed through town on Oct. 2 and drew a strong turnout along the streets. The items were recorded in the Fire Chief report section of the minutes (SEG 012).
