Treasurer Leslie Cummings told the Town of Nutter Fort council on Oct. 8 that a cybersecurity risk assessment of the town’s water, sewer and billing operations was completed by the U.S. Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) on Oct. 8, 2024. She also reminded residents that a flu shot clinic is scheduled for Oct. 11, 2024, from 9:00–10:30 a.m., and proposed the town accept donations for hurricane victims to be routed through a charity such as Samaritan’s Purse or Cajun Navy 2016.
Cummings said the town has been informed of projected PEIA increases for the next fiscal year—about a 14% rise in premiums—and that deductibles and out-of-pocket maximums for employees are expected to increase by at least 100%, prompting her to schedule a supervisors meeting to develop options to present to council (SEG 003).
