The Marion County Quorum Court Procedures Management Committee reorganized its membership during a short meeting on July 27, 2026, voting to keep Justice Dorsey as chair and to appoint a co-chair and a secretary.
A committee member moved to keep Justice Dorsey as chair, saying, “Make a motion that Justice Dorsey stays on as her chair.” The Chair then called for a vote and members responded verbally in the affirmative. The Chair later moved that Chuck Van Vilkenberg take the secretary position; that motion also received affirmative responses when the Chair called for a vote.
The session opened with a committee member apologizing for a prior early departure due to a staff emergency and stressing decorum for the committee. The Chair noted that formal elections for chair, vice chair and secretary are four days away and that the committee needed to settle interim officers. The meeting concluded after votes on the officers and a motion to adjourn.
