Judge orders drug patches and biweekly testing after positive drug test

The presiding judge responded to drug-test results by imposing a monitoring condition requiring a drug patch and biweekly testing. Addressing one defendant after a positive THC result, the judge said, "I'm going to require that you wear a drug patch. . . you have 24 hours to get a drug patch put on, and you have to get it changed every 2 weeks." The judge explained the patch would show the amount in the system and that failure to show decreasing levels or to keep the patch on could lead to bond increases and jail.
The court applied similar compliance-focused directives elsewhere on the docket: defendants ordered to wear monitoring patches were told to keep proof of installation with their bondsman, present testing results at required intervals and, if unable to secure counsel, to bring names of three attorneys to future hearings. The judge repeatedly stressed that excused or inconsistent patch use would not be tolerated and could trigger warrants or bond forfeiture.
