Board approves CSEA disclosure, tentatively ratifies CSEA pay terms and adopts school calendars; waivers and some items tabled

The board voted on several formal items during the meeting. Trustees approved the required disclosure of the tentative CSEA agreement (item 7.02) after a motion by Trustee Rodrigo Rodriguez. Later in the agenda the board approved a tentative reopener agreement with CSEA and a memorandum of understanding that authorizes a one-time 2.34% payment for the 25/26 year and a 2.24% ongoing schedule increase for 26/27 (items 11.03 and 11.04).
The board also approved consent agenda items under and over $25,000 and a construction item (items 8.01–8.11, 9.01–9.03, 10.01). The calendar committee’s recommendation to amend the 26/27 calendar and to adopt the 27/28 calendar passed (items 11.05 and 11.06). On the waiver application (item 7.03) — the possible exemption from the statutory 60% classroom-salary requirement — the board debated staff accounting adjustments and heard extended public comment; a motion to table the waiver until the Dec. 9 meeting passed.
