Jeff Sigler, the commission liaison, told the advisory board the municipal commission is preparing several near-term actions: appointing junior commissioners, the planned enactment of an ordinance tied to downtown smoke- and baby-shop uses, and a public hearing on e-bike restrictions. Sigler said the e-bike discussion will include age and use restrictions and that "what we probably really need to focus on is education," adding that Pennsylvania rules already have some age limits.
Sigler also said the commission is planning to consider issuing a municipal bond to fund projects including the Cedar Boulevard parking lot, turf replacement at Clint Seymour Field and library renovations. No bond decision was taken at the advisory-board meeting; Sigler was reporting commission priorities and timelines to the advisory body.
