Board hears update on streetlight upgrades; PG&E working on Moro Cojo billing cleanup

General Manager James Derbin updated the Board on efforts to upgrade aging streetlights in Castroville Zone 1 and Moro Cojo Zone 2. He said staff has monthly coordination meetings with Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E) to create a project that will replace three remaining high‑pressure sodium fixtures and install one missing light.
Derbin told the Board that approximately 22 Moro Cojo lights are still billed to Monterey County and PG&E is working with county staff to resolve those billings; a few additional miscellaneous billing cleanup items remain. The Board did not take formal action on the update but recorded the continuing work with PG&E.
Director Glenn Oania arrived earlier in the meeting (4:45 p.m.), after which subsequent votes were recorded as unanimous. The streetlight update remains an ongoing operational item; staff will continue coordination with PG&E and the County to finalize installations and billing.
