Staff described donated lumber efforts and plans to solicit donated or discounted materials for immediate repairs to the grandstands.
Facilities work planned for the summer includes LED lighting retrofits funded through the Oregon Energy Trust, carpet chemical-extraction bids (one bid around $2,500), and student workers assisting custodians. The Trust for Public Land extended a site timeline for contractors to review a schoolyard project; bids are due June 23 with a contractor selection hoped by June 30, staff said.
The board discussed balancing maintenance spending, building fund availability and the need to communicate a potential bond to taxpayers rather than spending down reserves or cutting programs.
