Council accepts $1,500 AOC grant for community court risk-assessment training

City staff asked the council to accept a $1,500 grant from the Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC) to support operational risk-assessment training for community court/pretrial services.
Dave Lucas presented the request, explaining the training will support the city's pretrial evaluation process. "I'm asking that you approve resolution F327, which is the awarding or accepting of the award of a $1,500 grant from AOC to support risk assessment training," he said. Council confirmed the funds were state funds and learned they were reallocated from unused program funds.
A council member said the safety committee had discussed the item and recommended approval. The council approved Resolution F327 by voice vote.
Staff will accept the grant and use it for risk-assessment training for pretrial services under the Cheney Community Court program.
