Steve, representing the Light Department, told council the department went to bid in October for 50,000 feet of distribution wire and received four responsive bids. "We had 4 responsive bidders with American Wire Group being the lowest," Steve said, and the company indicated it could deliver from a California warehouse within a week.
Staff noted a typographical correction to the bid documents (a transformer line item) and said with that correction they recommended award to American Wire Group. Council approved Resolution F323 to accept the corrected low bid and authorize the purchase by motion and voice vote.
