She said roughly $5.8 million of the gap has been covered through a combination of funding adjustments and program realignment, and that officials have targeted cuts and vacancy management to preserve services such as libraries, animal welfare, mobile crisis response and community childcare. The mayor said the city will continue community outreach on budget choices and aims to improve public understanding of how specific revenue streams are restricted.
