The Heritage Pines Community Development District Board of Supervisors voted Feb. 18 to approve a $600 estimate from A‑Z Tree Service to remove a tree and grind its stump behind 11453 Heritage Point Drive.
"On MOTION by Mr. Walsh and seconded by Mr. Putman, with all in favor, the A‑Z Tree Service, LLC estimate to Remove with Stump Grind Behind 11453 Heritage Point Drive, in the amount of $600, was approved," the minutes state.
The action followed public comment from Don Brothers, who said the tree on CDD property was an invasive species and that a debris pile and storm damage made the tree a hazard that "might land on nearby homes during a hurricane." Supervisor Stephen Putman inspected the site and photographed the pile and tree before the board considered contractor estimates.
The board reviewed three A‑Z line items on the agenda: a $350 clean‑up and trim behind 11453 Heritage Point Drive; the $600 stump‑grind removal at the same location; and a $5,475 forestry mulch proposal for pond areas on Waterlily Lane and Rolling Hills Loop. The board approved only the $600 stump‑grind estimate at this meeting.
The motion carried unanimously. The district manager noted other maintenance items — including quotes to repair a damaged cover from a moving truck — will be discussed at the next meeting.
