Heard County to perform site prep at industrial park under MOU as Development Authority pledges up to $500,000

Chairman Lee Boone reported he and Public Works Director Darold Wiggins met with the Development Authority about site preparation at the industrial park on Highway 34 near the West Georgia Technical School building. Boone said the Development Authority agreed to fund site prep up to $500,000 if Heard County performs the work through its road department.
On motion by Commissioner Joe Adams and seconded by Commissioner Keri Denney, the Board unanimously voted to enter into a memorandum of understanding between the Development Authority and Heard County that authorizes the county road department to perform the site prep work. The minutes record the Board's unanimous approval and the Development Authority's conditional funding commitment up to $500,000.
