Commission declined two recent transit awards; match requirements cited

"We did have to decline our recent award... project total was $400,000 to complete engineering and design for a dedicated transit center that would have required an $80,000 local match," she said.
Sherry also said the department declined an award for a replacement bus: "It was project total up to 288,000 requiring a 15% local match, and that was not funded in this last grant cycle." She warned the commission these declines could affect competitiveness for future awards and said staff will monitor implications for future grant cycles and fleet replacement timing.
