River Road Elementary’s food drive expands to monthly weekend packs, organizers say

Claire Strong, the meeting facilitator, told attendees that Karen Crew from River Road Elementary organized a successful food drive in recent months and that school staff now hope to extend the effort into a monthly program providing food packs for students to take home over weekends. "They are hoping to start this on a monthly basis and see how it goes," Strong said.
Strong asked for volunteers to lead or support the effort and noted that contact information and a sign-up sheet were available. She also mentioned Kelly Middle School is collecting donations for its pantry and suggested community members could coordinate support across schools.
