The River Road Community Organization elected three volunteers to its seven-member board during its monthly meeting. Laura Hsu, the meeting facilitator, said the three open seats drew three nominees and conducted an in-room hand-raise election that resulted in the three candidates being seated without a contested vote.
"So all river otters in favor of electing Nancy Buffum to the board, raise your hands," Laura Hsu said as the group confirmed nominees. The meeting record shows Terry Morton and Jan Spencer were likewise confirmed in the same manner; organizers noted the terms last two years and that board membership requires monthly meeting attendance and volunteer involvement in neighborhood projects. The facilitator asked nominees to speak briefly and invited new board members to help plan upcoming neighborhood activities.
