Speaker 3 presented a first reading of several policy updates recommended by the Oregon School Boards Association (OSBA). Key changes included updated language for superintendent evaluation, a requirement that the district post integrated pest-management plans and keep pesticide-application records for four years, and revised contact and notification language in the harassment-related policies previously updated in June 2024.
Speaker 3 explained shaded and new language in the OSBA samples and said the board will receive a cleaner side-by-side version at the next meeting to consider for adoption. "If you look at that shaded part on the OSBA sample policy, that's new language," Speaker 3 said. No adoption votes were taken; these items were presented as the board's first reading.
