Michelle said the Downtown Development Authority applied for the match and that the DDA award will support local building upgrades. She also told the council two streetlights — one at Maple and Superior and another in front of Auto Value that was taken down last winter — are scheduled for replacement in early August. The manager framed the items as routine economic-development and maintenance work and closed by noting her planned retirement date, giving the city roughly six months to plan a transition.
The council took no separate vote on the DDA award during the meeting; the update came as part of the city manager’s verbal report. The manager said the city has already assembled a committee to handle next steps tied to the transition and ongoing projects.
