Superintendent: bond projects progressing; junior-high and early learning center on track for early August

The district superintendent reported that bond-funded construction projects are progressing across campuses. The junior high building has seen steady work, including removal of a damaged overhang that will be rebuilt with a slant to prevent water pooling; district staff said they expect both the junior high work and the early learning and wellness center to be "done by early August at the latest." The superintendent noted contractors intend to concentrate heavier exterior work during spring break and that some site lawns will be disrupted temporarily by construction equipment.

The early learning and wellness center has roof trusses in place and appears to be advancing quickly; the superintendent said the district hopes to have partners moved into the buildings this fall. The superintendent gave the new site address as 225 Oak Street. Board members discussed minor impacts during construction and timing for site finishes.
