Superintendent Keven Morehart updated the board on district operations at the Sept. 9 meeting, reporting enrollment at 788 and noting ongoing maintenance and capital projects including boilers, the armory kitchen walk-in freezer, the ticket booth and the track. He also noted the first SAC meeting was scheduled for Wednesday the 11th and that fall athletic seasons are underway. The superintendent said district communication will transition to Infinite Campus and mentioned upcoming superintendent meetings in Pierre and a NAFIS meeting; the minutes also note Guardian Flight is sponsoring a hunt.
Later in the evening the board moved into executive session for personnel matters (item 1-25-2 (1)) at 8:12 p.m. on a motion by Rusty Blare, seconded by Lynnelle Anderson; the motion carried 7-0. President Mike Calhoon declared executive session over at 9:01 p.m. The board then discussed retreat items including elementary enrollment numbers and elementary parking/pickup before adjourning at 9:13 p.m.
