The Ventura County Sheriff’s Office reported to the Oak Park MAC that deputies responded to 211 calls for service in November and December 2024 (104 calls in November and 107 in December) and filed 52 reports total, of which 23 were criminal reports and 29 were incident reports.
Detective Tim Behrend summarized categories: five forgery/fraud reports (three related to theft by access cards, one check forgery, one rental-scam report that was sent to another agency), an attempted residential burglary where no loss occurred, and a theft-from-vehicle spree under investigation with three suspects identified. The Sheriff’s Office noted one vandalism incident involving hate-speech graffiti at an intersection; the East County General Investigative Unit is investigating with no suspects at this time.
The Sheriff’s Office reminded residents to protect personal information and to be cautious about rental scams and pop-up online ads. The MAC accepted the report as received.
