The Blythewood Town Council voted unanimously on June 17 to install permanent electrical pedestals at Doko Meadows and to award the work to Snipes Electric. The project is intended to support holiday lighting and future community events and to reduce reliance on extension cords during festivals; the motion was made by Councilman R. McKenrick and passed 5-0.
Staff reported three bids for the work: Branham at $59,200, Snipes Electric at $15,750 (the staff recommendation), and Sharp Electric at $11,653. Council discussed contractor experience, public safety, and underground utility coordination, and also considered whether to expand permanent electrical infrastructure across the park for future events.
