The Blythewood Town Council on June 17 approved using contingency funds to purchase CivicPlus agenda management and CivicPlus recreation/facility management software, a bundled purchase the town says will streamline agenda preparation, packet assembly and Doko Manor reservation operations. The motion was made by Councilman R. McKenrick and seconded by Mayor Pro Tem A. Fripp; the roll call vote was 5-0 in favor.
Town Manager Doug Polen presented the proposal, telling Council that purchasing both products together would provide a discounted price and allow implementation before the new fiscal year. Staff noted the contract term would be two years and would carry annual recurring costs; Council discussed compatibility with existing IT services and the potential to add electronic voting in future meetings. The software purchase will be incorporated into the revised budget for second and final reading.
