Sandy hosted a meet-and-greet for prospective board and commission applicants to allow council members and board chairs to speak directly with people interested in serving. Deputy City Manager Jeff Reprodi said the event was designed to be casual and efficient: "We've got seven different stations...we're gonna do about four minutes per conversation," he told attendees.
Reprodi asked participants to use color-coded name tags and binders so councilors could match applicants to the board they applied for; he also said staff will collect the binders as public records and provide those notes to the council ahead of appointments on December 15. Organizers encouraged applicants to visit every station and thanked volunteers for their time. The meet-and-greet concluded with staff inviting attendees to take pizza and reconvene later for the regular council meeting.
