Fernando Baez, Manager of Engineering, presented an update on the Calleguas–Las Virgenes interconnection project, explaining that both agencies rely on imported water and the interconnection is intended to improve reliability during planned and unplanned delivery interruptions. Calleguas will construct a new pump station/pressure regulating station along Lindero Canyon Road north of the Ventura County/Los Angeles County line and a North Interconnection Pipeline segment between the PS/PRS and Kanan Road. Baez said the agencies will "be working on landscape and beautifying areas impacted by the construction." The project website and contact information (http://cmwdlvmwdinterconnection.com/ and 1-800-371-0723, info@calleguas.com) were provided for residents seeking updates.
The presentation described coordination between Calleguas and Las Virgenes on construction limits and repairs; Baez confirmed LVMWD-led construction south of the county line has concluded. No project vote or permit decision was taken by the MAC; the briefing was informational and project teams supplied resources for further questions.
